Important Notice: Double Hook-Up Letters

Adaton Water Association has recently mailed out letters regarding potential double hook-ups in the water system. We want to take a moment to clear up confusion and reassure our members.

Some customers have called in frustrated after receiving this notice. Please know: this is not a scam. These letters were sent out to all customers because, by law, we must notify members whenever possible violations may exist.

A “double hook-up” happens when one meter serves more than one household. This is prohibited under our Bylaws and the State of Mississippi's guidelines. The rule is in place to protect public health, water quality, and system reliability.

Receiving a letter does not necessarily mean you are in violation. It means we are required to notify every customer so records can be properly reviewed and updated.

The phone number on the letter belongs to a board member who volunteered to serve as the contact person for this issue. You may call that number with questions.
